This is an open access article under the CC BY-NC-ND license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/) Abstract: This study explicates the optimum condition for effective and efficient uptake of cationic dye onto raw and modified (acid activated and calcined) Ekowe clay. The clay modification spanned 750oC calcination of RS to produced RCS and 0.5MH2SO4 activation of RS then 750oC calcination to produce ACS. The pH, acidity, CEC, PZC, surface area and filtration rate opened the adsorptive characteristics of the clay samples. Factors’ combinations of the RSM-CCRD (Central composite rotatable design of Response Surface Methodology) were applied in the batch adsorption experiments for statistical evaluation and Optimization of the Methylene Blue (MB) uptake. Calcination incurred structural and morphological change enhancing porosity and total surface area of the clay. The RSM showed; the correlation of MB uptake and studied variables fitted quadratic model, showing uptake variation with time, pH, dye concentration, clay amount and temperature. The analysis of variance exposed that all main factors influenced MB uptake. The effective and material economic optimum result: 66.92%, 62.79% and 53.53% MB uptake for ACS, RCS and RS respectively at conditions of 47min, solution pH-3, 20mg/L dye concentration, 0.35gclay and 25oC showed that calcination of raw and activated Ekowe clay enhances its optimum adsorptive capacity for MB dye uptake. In the present paper a crane hook is purchased from the local market for Finite element analysis. The hook was tested on the UTM machine in tension to locate the area having maximum stress and to locate the yield point. The model of hook is prepared in CAE software having dimension and material similar to the crane hook which was purchased from the market. The results obtained were compared with theoretical analysis. Then cross section in which minimum stress induced for given load was modified through FEM. The smart innovative design is done on safety basis. Main features of the smart vehicle design are long battery back-up and energy efficient use of drives. A back-up supply from the source is available when the vehicle is out of charge. The back-up source is combination or coupling of solar power, wind energy, and shaft coupled dynamo. The design of the motor vehicle(kart) is in accordance with the specifications laid down by the rule book given in this paper. The motor runs with a power output of 750W and 36V. The sources employed are a combination of three 12V 40Ah batteries in series. There is one more back-up battery on board, which is charged by the 2 dynamos and 1 solar panel dynamically. Efforts have been put to validate our design by theoretical calculations, simulations and known facts. Unlike other biometric such as fingerprints and face recognition, the distinct aspect of iris comes from randomly distributed features. Iris recognition is regarded as the most reliable and accurate biometric identification system available. This paper provides the review of related work in the iris recognition. A general framework of the iris recognition system is proposed and finally the advantages and disadvantages of the iris recognition technology are analyzed. It is commonly accepted that users of a biometric system may have differing degrees of accuracy within the system. Some people may have trouble authenticating, while others may be particularly vulnerable to impersonation. The estimation results reveal, as expected, that a wide variety of factors affect security transit times including the number of enplaning seats (reflecting flight schedules), weather conditions, day of week, as well as obvious variables such as traveler volume and the number of open security lanes. The recognition accuracy of a single biometric authentication system is often much reduced due to the environment, user mode and physiological defect. Iris and Retina biometric recognition offers a highly reliable solution to person authentication. Instead of using the entire iris code, only the bits that are consistent in the iris code called the best bits are considered in the feature matching process. This reduces the computational time and storage requirements of iris code. To enhance the performance of recognition, the iris recognition process is applied to left and right irises separately and the corresponding distance scores are generated for each iris of a person. These scores are combined using the weighted sum fusion rule which further increases the recognition rate. In recent years, technological development has significantly improved in analyzing digital images. This paper proposes a modified decision based unsymmetrical trimmed median filter algorithm for the restoration of gray scale and color images that are highly corrupted by salt-and-pepper noise from digital images, by topological approach. The proposed algorithm replaces the noisy pixel by trimmed median value when other pixel values, 0’s and 255’s are present in the selected window and when all the pixel values are 0’s and 255’s then the noise pixel is replaced by mean value of all the elements present in the selected window. The quality of the noise reduction in images is measured by the statistical quantity measures: Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Peak-Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR).The proposed algorithm shows better results than the Standard Median Filter (MF), Decision Based Algorithm (DBA) and Modified Decision Based Algorithm (MDBA). Imaging information considers anatomical, functional and quantitative it produce images of the internal aspect of the body. Recent advances in imaging techniques have made it possible to acquire images in real time during an interventional procedure. In such procedure, usually the real-time images themselves may be sufficient to provide the necessary guidance information needed for the procedure. There are many types of imaging like Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), Computer Tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET) and X-ray. In the above images, MRI is a wide variety of applications in medical diagnosis. MRI can be used to find exact method to find and analysis throughout the body compared to the other imaging Techniques. In programming languages, the ambiguity is defined as existence of (at least) two distinct derivations that yield a same word. Considering in that line, ambiguity in gene sequences may be interpreted as a gene sequence can be obtained by more than one way such that its intermediate gene sequences are different. Analyzing the ambiguity issues in gene sequences will help us to know the evolution of gene sequences. Recently, in a new variant called Matrix insertion-deletion systems has been introduced as a biologically inspired computing model to represent various bio-molecular structures such as pseudoknot, hairpin, stem and loop, attenuator, dumbbell and cloverleaf. But the ambiguity issues of Matrix insertion-deletion systems has not been analyzed in detail yet. In this paper, we formally define various levels (0,1,2,3) of ambiguity for Matrix insertion-deletion systems based on the components used in the derivation such as axiom, context, string (used for insertion/deletion). Next, we relate the newly defined ambiguity levels of Matrix insertion-deletion systems with bio-molecular structures and analyze their ambiguity issues. We notice that ideal language obeys the level 0-ambiguity, stem and loop structure obeys level 1-ambiguity, cloverleaf structure obeys level 2-ambiguity and orthodox language obeys level 3-ambiguity. Woven Synthetic geotextiles are not environmental friendly and as imported these are often found to be costly. Jute geotextiles (JGT) are indigenous and have got enough potential for use as initial reinforcement and moisture absorption accelerator in road subgrades, for river bank protection via facilitating establishment of inverted filter formation and for top soil erosion control of exposed slope surfaces. By employing different modification techniques, JGTs may be converted into designed biodegradable material without changing its environmental friendly properties. In the present study two types of JGTs (untreated 627gsm and untreated 724gsm) have been used. The samples are supplied by Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) and Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI). The most important properties of JGT, i.e., tensile strength and strain at maximum load have been evaluated for both types of samples at different strain rate. This paper presents the rate sensitivity of JGT through the test results of these two types (untreated, 627gsm and untreated 724gsm) of JGTs. A wideband beamforming algorithm which is derived from spatial signal processing technique is considered in this technique. We will be using circular array geometry for the wideband smart antenna. A well known LMS algorithm will be applied to the circular array geometry. The DOA/validation component uses a MATLAB script to implement the MUSIC algorithm to estimate the DOA for both incoming sources. CPBD considers prediction of human blur at different contrasts. The probabilistic model that calculates probability of blur detection at edges in the image are taken into consideration by CPBD . This data is then spread over the entire image by calculating CPBD. The CPBD is tested by comparing it with different sharpness metrics for LIVE database images. Then the process of blur removal is done by reading the Gaussian blur image from LIVE database. The standard deviation for the test image is calculated while computing CPBD. Adjustment of standard deviation is followed by estimation of point spread function (PSF) and finally deconvlucy function is used to restore the image using Lucy-Richardson algorithm of deblurring. Analysis and modeling of flexible manufacturing system (FMS) includes priority analysis of machining jobs and machining routing for efficient profit and production. Flexible manufacturing system (FMS) job Priority calculation becomes exceptionally complex when it comes to contain frequent variations in the part designs of incoming jobs. This paper focuses on priority analysis of variety of incoming jobs into the system efficiently and maximizing system utilization and throughput of system where machines are equipped with different tools and tool magazines but multiple machines can be assigned to single operation. For the complete analysis of the proposed work, a cloud of four incoming jobs have been considered. The Jobs have been assigned the priority according to Slack per Remaining Operations. Usually the probability of incoming job priority is calculated based on three parameters based strategy. In this work an adaptive Neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is developed to calculate the priority of incoming jobs based on Slack per Remaining Operations (S/RO) parameter. Four horizontal CNC lathe machines have been utilized for this work. Therefore, in this paper, an ANFIS system is developed to generate best priority of incoming jobs. The results obtained clearly indicate the higher efficiency of the proposed work to decide the priority of the incoming jobs. This is an open access article under the CC BY-NC-ND license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/) Abstract: A natural convection solar tunnel greenhouse dryer coupled with biomass heater was designed and developed in Nallampalli region of Pollachi, Tamil Nadu (India) and also a natural convection solar tunnel greenhouse dryer without biomass heater (existing dryer) was designed and developed in Negamam region of Pollachi, Tamil Nadu (India) for the comparison and optimization of the existing solar tunnel greenhouse dryer by conducting a drying test in both the dryers with coconut as the drying product during the month of March, 2014. About 5000 coconuts were loaded into those two respective dryers and it was repeated for three trails. The mass of fuel added to the biomass heater was about 7.5kg/hr. The biomass heater was ignited when there is a fall in sunshine (after 5PM) in order to maintain the temperature inside the dryer. The drying parameters (product quality and drying time) were also taken into account for the optimization of the existing dryer. The solar tunnel dryer coupled with the biomass heater dried the coconuts which has an initial moisture content of 53.84% to a final moisture content of 7.003% over a time period of 44 hours whereas the solar tunnel greenhouse dryer without the biomass heater took 56 hours for reducing the moisture content to the same level. The drying time of the coconuts in the solar tunnel greenhouse dryer coupled with the biomass heater was less than that of the solar tunnel greenhouse dryer without the biomass heater which is due to the effect of biomass heater that supplied sufficient heat to the dryer so that the temperature inside the dryer would be increasing steadily even at night time. Also the quality of the coconuts obtained from the solar tunnel greenhouse dryer coupled with biomass heater was found to be superior to that of the coconuts obtained from the solar tunnel greenhouse dryer without the biomass heater which is due to the high temperature and low relative humidity prevailed all the time inside the dryer irrespective of fall in sunshine. This is an open access article under the CC BY-NC-ND license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/) Abstract: This paper presents a comparative study on mechanical and magnetic properties of two sets, each including five samples of film-shaped magnetorheological nanocomposites (MRNCs) based on RTV silicone rubber and nano-sized carbonyl iron particles (CIPs). One set of sample was prepared by polymerization of silicone rubber with CIPs and silicone oil, while the other set obtained by filling the ammonium bicarbonate (NH4HC3), CIPs and silicone oils. Both set of samples were manufactured under isotropic condition and their microstructures was characterized by XRD and EFSEM. Porosity characteristics was measured by displacement method and porosity image analysis was applied using ImageJ and Origin Pro Software. The mechanical tensile tests was conducted using Gotech tensile strength tester and the density of samples was observed experimentally and estimated theoretically. The magnetic properties of MRNCs were practically determined using VSM test. Plateau stress induced by the applied magnetics fields and MR effects was determined. Through fabrication of film-shaped MRNCs, the samples deflections was measured against applied magnetic fields .The comparative investigation results show that porosity improve the mechanical and magnetic properties of MRNCs and porous MRNCs will be the good candidate for miniature and flexible gripper’s jaws. About 50 kgs of green chillies were carried out in the dryer and is repeated for three trails. The drying parameters such as product quality and drying time were taken into account for finding the best suitable method of drying of products. The solar tunnel greenhouse dryer dried the green chillies which has an initial moisture content of 88.5% to a final moisture content of 7.4% over a time period of 55 hours whereas the open sun drying method took 125 hours for the same. Also the quality of green chillies obtained from the solar tunnel greenhouse dryer was found to be of superior quality to that of open sun dried green chillies.
