Literal Translation and Connotational Meaning of Phrases and Sentences from One Language to Another

Abstract:   This paper presents an overview of Literal Translation and Connotational Meaning of Phrases and Sentences from One Language to Another. Most philosophers and linguists accept a certain conception of the notion of the literal meaning of words and sentences and the relation between literal meaning and other semantic notions such as ambiguity, metaphor, and truth. Sentences have literal meanings. The literal meaning of a sentence is entirely determined by the meanings of its component words and the syntactical rules according to which these elements are combined. A sentence may have more than one literal meaning or its literal meaning may be defective or interpretable. The literal meaning of a sentence needs to be sharply distinguished from what a speaker means by the sentence when he utters it to perform a speech act, for the speaker's utterance meaning may depart from the literal sentence meaning in a variety of ways.

Light Seeker Circuit

Abstract:  Light seeker uses two LDRs to find the difference between the intensity in two different directions. This circuit uses operational amplifier to amplify the small difference in voltage measured by LDRs. The amplifier stage’s output can further be used to control or send signal to microprocessor or microcontroller. The advantage of using this circuit is that it can measure the minute differences with utmost accuracy and it has no digital components thus it provides a wide range of operation. This circuit uses very simple electronic devices and thus it is very economic and useful.

Paper Title:

Global Education System via Technology

Abstract: In this era of information and technology there is high influence of World Wide Web in business, entertainment and education systems. For finding distributed information www is used, it works just like an online library. In different areas of education it provides a medium that has the prospective to be more receptive to the students, to encourage larger contribution in their own knowledge. The proposed software deals with the problems related to distance education or distance learning and provide their tentative solutions. First, it recognizes those difficulties which were faced by the students or distant learner during their course of study. It also recognizes the problems related to the different distance education systems and provide its tentative solution for the improvement of distance education systems. Global Education System via Technology (GEST) is an enhancement to Virtual Universities and Tele Education. Through GEST unlimited Virtual Universities, Colleges, Schools etc can be made on a single platform. The scope of Virtual Universities is so limited that it works under a single domain. Hence, GEST will support the merger of several domains. GEST will be capable of determining the academic level of students and suggest those courses which will be beneficial for them using Decision Support System. All in all we are going to group institutions globally according to their education level.

Semaphore & Slot-Acquisition based Parking System

Abstract:  As we are aware that finding a parking space in most metropolitan areas, especially during the rush hours, is very difficult. This difficulty does not arise due to unavailability of parking spaces, but due to unawareness of the available spaces at that time; even if known, many vehicles may pursue very limited parking spaces that are nearby and cause serious traffic congestion. In this paper, we design a prototype of ‘Semaphore and Slot Acquisition based Parking System (SSAPS)’ that allows the drivers to effectively find and reserve the vacant parking spaces. The status of each parking sector is monitored and evaluated using principle of counting semaphore and is displayed at the entrance. This status is then updated on the main server. The drivers are allowed to access this cyber-physical system with their personal communication devices. Furthermore, we study the parking systems already in existence and compare their performance. The experiment results show that the proposed reservation-based parking policy evaluated using semaphores has the potential to simplify the operations of parking systems, as well as alleviate traffic congestion caused by parking searching.
